Mudborn

Mudborn presents a worldview deeply rooted in Taiwanese folklore and traditional spiritual beliefs, where a cursed object can harbor an evil spirit that directly impacts and possesses individuals. The resolution to this spiritual crisis comes through the intervention of a folklorist and psychic exorcist who utilizes non-Christian practices and understanding of the spirit world. From a Christian perspective, this depiction of spiritual authority and the source of supernatural power would contradict biblical teachings, which attribute ultimate spiritual authority to God alone and view spirits outside of divine control as demonic entities to be addressed through Christ-centered spiritual warfare, not traditional folk remedies or exorcism. The film's core themes focus on the protection of family and the fight against malevolent spiritual forces, which aligns with Christian values of protecting loved ones.
